Image2PDF Web Portal Application Overview The Image2PDF Web Portal provides existing web applications with the ability to retrieve Enterprise documents via an Internet/Intranet web server. The calling web applications can either be traditional Enterprise-centric solutions, custom applications, or third-party packages, such as Oracle Financials, PeopleSoft, or SAP. The portal utilizes Enterprise's Web Services Suite and provides a "firewall friendly" approach to retrieving documents (only one port in the firewall is needed). To access a Enterprise document, the calling application simply provides a link to the Image2PDF portal, passes the appropriate search information via a query string, and the portal converts the document to a PDF format and streams it to a new browser instance. The PDF format was chosen because of its universal acceptance for document publishing via the web. |
